JONI MURPHY - WATERCOLOUR ARTIST
I have long admired the work of local watercolour artist Joni Murphy.
In fact, I have some of her pieces in my bathroom, and I previously enjoyed visiting her studio space on the Taranaki Arts Trail.
When I joined The Collaboration in New Plymouth I got to know Joni more and she suggested we collaborate on a New Zealand Natives Giftset. She has put together a gorgeous Perpetual Calendar that can be used year after year to help remember birthdays and anniversaries, and teamed it with a gift card. I then took reference from her artwork, deciding to keep the background of the earrings white to allow for instant recognition, and designed a Kowhai and Pohutukawa Collection.
The earrings are available on their own on my website, or you can get great value and purchase them with the Perpetual Calendar.
A perfect pressie idea leading up to Christmas!
This Collection came about due to a mutual admiration for each others craft. Jade at Bleubell Macrame is an incredible macrame artist who runs a successful local small business.
I had brought some of her stunning plant hangers, and she had brought some of my earrings when she then approached me to make some moons and rainbows to accompany her macrame keychains.
